Learn, Network, and Connect at NCDA Events
The disability advocacy sector is diverse and rich in knowledge and experience. The NCDA aims to leverage this experience to provide all advocates and sector staff with opportunities to regularly connect, learn, and build their capacity through various NCDA and external sector events.
The NCDA offers various online and in-person events, including our Advocate Peer Network, EO/Manager Peer Network and training webinars. To attend an NCDA event, you must register via Eventbrite. Registration links are available in the monthly newsletter and on the Portal. The calendar below shows event dates but cannot be used to register for events. NCDA events are open to organisations funded by the National Disability Advocacy Program (NDAP).
Our Peer Networks are capped at 20 attendees, ensuring a diverse range of experiences in the room while maintaining a comfortable environment for sharing. Please only register for a Peer Network session if you plan to attend, and notify us as soon as possible if you need to cancel your registration.
Please note that you must register via Eventbrite to attend an NCDA event. Registration links are available in the monthly newsletter and in the Portal.
Our Advocate Peer Network sessions allow advocates to leverage the experience of their peers by reflecting on and discussing advocacy practice, asking each other questions, and exchanging sector updates. With the increase in remote and hybrid work, these events are designed to help reduce feelings of isolation and increase your collaboration efforts.
The NCDA will organise expert guests to attend these sessions to contribute to the discussion. NCDA staff will act as facilitators but generally leave the flow and direction of the session to the participants. Executive Officers and managers are not eligible to attend these sessions.
In recent years, there has been an increased demand for Executive Officers and managers in the disability advocacy sector to meet reporting and compliance requirements and funding challenges. EO and Manager Peer Network sessions are designed to allow Executive Officers and managers to come together and support each other in their roles by reflecting on and discussing management practices and priorities, asking questions of each other, and exchanging sector updates and good–practice management resources.
The NCDA will organise expert guests to attend these sessions to contribute to the discussion. NCDA staff will act as facilitators but will generally leave the flow and direction of the session to participants. Advocates who are not Executive Officers or managers are not eligible to attend these sessions.
Our training webinars are designed to provide advocates with the latest knowledge, skills, and strategies to enhance their advocacy efforts. These interactive sessions cover various topics, from policy updates and best practice advocacy to specialised skills and emerging issues in the disability sector.
Each month, our team invites experienced professionals and industry experts to provide valuable insights and practical tools that advocates can immediately apply in their work. Join our webinars to stay informed, connected, and empowered to make a difference.
FAQ's about NCDA Events

All attendees must register for NCDA events in Eventbrite. The link to the Eventbrite registration page for each event can be found in our monthly newsletter and in the Portal. If you do not currently receive our monthly newsletter, you can email ncda@dana.org.au to be added to our mailing list.
Most of our events are hosted on Zoom.
Most NCDA events are held on Zoom, and all webinars feature live closed captioning.
