Update From the NCDA, September 2026

Hi all,

We’re so excited to be in September, or, as we call it at NCDA, ‘Survey Month’!

This month, we’re launching our 2026 Individual and Organisational Workforce Surveys, and we want to hear from the people who work across the disability advocacy sector.

The surveys open this Monday, 7 September, and will be open until Friday 25 September.

Whether you’re a frontline advocate, manager, CEO, intake worker, administrator or work behind the scenes supporting advocacy, your experience matters.

Our annual Workforce Surveys give us the opportunity to better understand the skills, experiences, challenges and priorities of our sector. The more people who take part, the stronger the picture we can build of the workforce — and the stronger the evidence we have to advocate for the support and resources the sector needs.

This year, we’ve streamlined the surveys to focus on the information that matters most.

And there’s a little extra incentive to take part! Every eligible completion of the Individual Workforce Survey will go into the draw to win one of three $100 gift cards.

We’ll be encouraging advocacy workers and organisations across Australia to have their say over the coming weeks, and we’d love you to be part of it.

So, keep an eye out below for the survey details, and make sure you look out for the survey links on Monday! Help us make this our biggest and most representative Survey Month yet.

We also want to give a big welcome to two new staff members joining the NCDA team.

Celeste Lennon has joined us as our new Administration Officer, and Sephi Raine has joined us as our Data and Sector Engagement Officer.

Both Celeste and Sephi bring immense experience from across the community sector, and we’re so glad to have them on board. You’ll be hearing more from them and getting to know them over the coming months!

As always, if you’d like to learn more about the NCDA or the work we do, we’d love to hear from you at ncda@dana.org.au.
