Update From the NCDA, August 2026

Hi everyone,

As we head into the second half of the year, we’ve got a few exciting updates and opportunities to share.

In September, we’ll be launching our annual individual and organisation advocacy workforce survey. This year, we’ve streamlined the survey to focus on the information that matters most. The survey plays an important role in helping us understand what’s happening across the disability advocacy sector, identify emerging pressures and trends, and build the evidence needed for greater investment in our workforce. We encourage everyone employed by an advocacy organisation to take part this year.

We’re also seeking expressions of interest for two new peer networks that we’re trialling:

  • Peer Supervision Peer Network

  • Intake Worker Peer Network

  • Disability Leadership Networks

If either network sounds interesting, you’ll find more information and links to register your interest further in this newsletter.

Finally, we’ve recently resolved an issue that was preventing some users from accessing recordings of previous webinars through the NCDA Portal. If you’ve experienced any difficulties viewing past sessions, the catalogue should now be working as expected. We encourage you to jump back in and explore the growing library of webinars and resources available.

As always, if you’d like to learn more about the NCDA or the work we’re doing to support the disability advocacy sector, we’d love to hear from you. You can get in touch with us at ncda@dana.org.au.
