Disability Support Pension Workshop: Sector Event

The team at Welfare Rights Centre are developing a new face-to-face workshop to delve into the medical evidence requirements for Disability Support Pension (DSP).

This workshop will be held in Sydney city, on Tuesday 21 November. You must register your expression of interest below, and Welfare Rights Centre will respond shortly to confirm registrations.

Clients often struggle to understand DSP evidence requirements. Common issues include not knowing what’s needed and which healthcare provider can provide it. Many healthcare providers are also unfamiliar with the DSP rules, so provide evidence that does not address the specific information Centrelink needs to make a positive determination. As a result, claimants can struggle to access DSP for years. 60% of all DSP claims are rejected in the first instance, and many rejections are never appealed.

This free workshop has been developed to follow on from our 2 hourly DSP CLE, providing more detailed and hands-on training. Our DSP Clinic Solicitor will work through the DSP assessment process (including Program of Support), with a firm eye on medical evidence requirements at each stage.
